I was buzzing with the news that I had been successful with the apprenticeship program and would be moving on to the next phase of the project! I couldn't wait to start fundraising. With a shaky start and not raising much money within the early months I begun to grow weary of the challenges I would be facing. Thinking of ideas wasn't the problem, it was pursuing them and making the magic happen! I may have underestimated how tricky raising all that money is, especially with me having other commitments like my water polo too. But I won't give up...
Recently fundraising has been very successful. I have created a fundraising book and it has all my ideas and completed fundraising events too. On Friday 16th December, me and Olivia Anderson did a cake sale at Winstanley college Christmas winter wonderland fair. Between arranging it with Miss Lakin, Miss Smith, Mr Hunt and Winstanley college, trying to get the stall arranged was very eventful. All in all me and Olivia had a fantastic time at Winstanley College and were very pleased with the warm welcome we received from the Staff and students. Together me and Olivia raised about £60 at and cleared the rest of the cakes round Croft estate raising a further £30. Having not being very successful to begin with I have completed a few bake sales (including selling cakes at croft dressage on a Sunday morning) and am very pleased with the way things have been working out. Can't wait to raise even more money for the trip and can't wait for the enjoyment I will have a long the way. Things will be much easier in the sunny weather!
