So far it’s been a great experience being part of the Culcheth 2 Soweto team, but this is where the hard work starts to really kick in! I’ve spent several months deciding what I wanted to do to raise my £600, I had loads of ideas it was just whether I could pull them off. Things such as: Charity Football Games, Fifa Tournaments, Car Washing, Walking the West Highland Way and a whole lot more... but I decided to use the weather to my advantage in these recent months. I did this by brushing up all the leaves on my neighbour's driveways, I thought this would be a great earner due to the amount of leaves scattered across driveways where people who maybe weren’t capable of clearing them. So not only was I earning a good amount of my fundraising target but I was also helping out my neighbour's.
After raising my £150 target last February by doing a Football Match in Lapland in the snow, I realised that I had raised over that and was delighted because £600 is a lot of money to raise and it was never going to be an easy task but having a £150 head start from what was left was so pleasing. I am planning on doing a Car Boot Sale after the winter so I hope to make at least over £50 on it as well as that I will be helping out my parents with decorating the house after the New Year. I will also be doing plenty of car washing and I am still yet to plan my big event, so still a huge deal of fundraising still to be done but with the help of my parents, staff and an unbelievable Culcheth Soweto team we can all raise the special £600!
